In the Meadow was inspired by the wildflower meadows of the Canadian landscape, and the glimpses of wildlife amongst those fleeting, colour-saturated weeks. This piece depicts the brief moments of connection and eye contact between you and an animal, before they disappear again into the soft purples, yellow, and greens of the meadows.
Painted in acrylic on canvas, I enjoyed creating the loose, and expressive background which I feel contrasts beautifully with the fox’s more defined form. I am excited to bring more of this style into my work. At 20" × 30", it’s a piece that works beautifully in a hallway, bedroom, or any space that could use a little wildness.
